Lovebrook & Green is the first new department store in the UK in over a century – and the only purely ethical department store in the world.
We are a modern reinvention of a timeless idea.
Built slowly and curated with care, we offer a more ethical way to shop: one that values permanence over passing trends, and craftsmanship over consumption.
We’re an independent, digital-first destination where every item is selected not only for how it’s made, but for how it lives with you. From hand-thrown ceramics to finely tailored garments and botanical skincare, we search for state-of-the-art products made from circular materials and grown with regenerative and organic farming methods, made in time-honoured ways.

Meet the Team
Lucy Johnson, Founder & CEO
Lucy’s vision is to reimagine the department store for the modern age: a curated, conscious destination where shopping is defined not by excess, but by meaning, integrity and timeless design.
She founded Lovebrook & Green as a natural evolution of her earlier sustainable lifestyle consultancy, Green Salon, to meet a growing desire for beauty, ethics and intention to coexist in how we shop.
With a background in environmental journalism, and a deep interest in regenerative living, Lucy is also a qualified psychotherapist, with years of experience working with eco-therapy and green coaching to help people rebalance their lives with nature.
Lily Courtauld, Strategy & Operations
Lily brings years of strategy and operations experience in the luxury retail world to Lovebrook & Green. She spent nearly two decades of experience working with luxury brands Burberry, Ralph Lauren and Harvey Nichols in roles spanning digital projects, training, comms and operations.
She is the also the former Chief Operating Officer of sustainable e-commerce platform Buy Me Once and is passionate about shopping in a way that treads as lightly as possible on the planet
Conal Judge, Customer Care Associate
Conal is our Customer Care Associate and a lively presence behind the scenes at Lovebrook & Green. He enjoys connecting with customers and making sure they feel supported, understood and confident in their choices.
Alongside his role here, Conal is studying for a Master’s in Climate Innovation and Sustainable Policy at UCL. His interest in sustainability is shaped by a lifelong love of nature, whether he’s hiking, swimming, or simply spending time outdoors. He believes that small, everyday actions, like how we consume, can be powerful tools for change. That’s what drew him to Lovebrook & Green: the opportunity to help people make more conscious choices and feel good about where their money is going.
